Come puoi aiutare:
The Arctic is a formidable landscape and one of the largest, most valuable and pristine natural places on Earth. The area, beside being home to a diversity of human cultures and highly adapted species is also one of the most important areas for keeping the Earth’s climate system stable and a key indicator of the state of global well-being. Major ecological changes are taking place here at a faster and more dramatic rate than anywhere else in the world. Warmer temperatures are rapidly melting the ice, which will likely all but disappear within a generation. The survival of ice-dependent species like the polar bears hinges on our ability to protect their habitats.
WWF seeks to work with local indigenous people and governments to create the most appropriate management plan for an area in Canada and Greenland which scientists believe the ice may persist longer than anywhere else. We refer to this place, twice the size of Texas, as the “Last Ice Area.”
The plan is not to move polar bears or any other animals to the area, but the idea is that the populations of ice dependent animals will likely move themselves to the area naturally.

Since 1922 Coca Cola has used the Polar Bears as icon, expecially in the holiday season, and often gladdened us with its images, sometimes funny, others sweet and touching.
The polar bears are now in danger. Built upon an existing partnership between WWF and The Coca-Cola Company focused on conserving freshwater resources around the world, use water more efficiently, and hold down carbon emissions in Coca-Cola’s manufacturing operations, the Coca Cola Company decided to participate in the plan of polar bears' protection of WWF.
The campaign, called "Arctic Home" helps to raise funds and awareness and to provide the financial resources needed to protect the polar bear’s Arctic habitat, beside including a $2 million donation over the next five years.
As part of the campaign and as a symbol of its commitment, for the first time ever, The Coca-Cola Company introduced a limited edition WHITE can this holiday season. In addition, bottle caps on many popular Coca-Cola products will be white and a second limited edition "Arctic Home" can will feature the polar bears on red packaging, supporting the campaign efforts to protect the polar bear's Arctic home.
How You Can Help:
Look for limited edition Arctic Home cans and caps on Coke products.
Use the product code to text a donation to WWF.
Coca-Cola will match all donations made with a product code up to $1 million through March 15, 2012.
Or, go to www.iCoke.ca and make a donation. The Coca Cola Company will match your donation up to March 15, 2012, so that your impact will be doubled.
